Orchestra courses provide students an introduction to, and refine the fundamentals of,music and bowed-string instrument literature and techniques and may include moreadvanced techniques. These courses teach students the appropriate care, handling, andmaintenance of musical instruments. Formal and informal performances may be includedas part of string instrument instructional programs as well as experiences in creating andresponding to music. Specific course content should align with existing standards forvisual and performing arts proficiency.
