Dance courses may introduce students to dance history and vocabulary as well as developstudents' ability to move expressively, with or without an emphasis on particular danceforms or on developing specific dance techniques. Dance courses may also include studyin dance repertory, choreography, and/or improvisation. Formal and informalperformances may be included as part of dance instructional programs. Specific coursecontent should align with existing standards for visual and performing arts proficiency.
