In Principles of Cosmetology Design and Color Theory, studentscoordinate integration of academic, career, and technicalknowledge and skills in this laboratory instructional sequencecourse designed to provide job-specific training for employmentin cosmetology careers. Students will attain academic skills andknowledge as well as technical knowledge and skills related tocosmetology design and color theory. Students will developknowledge and skills regarding various cosmetology designelements such as form, lines, texture, structure and illusion ordepth as they relate to the art of cosmetology. Instructionincludes sterilization and sanitation procedures, hair care, nailcare, and skin care and meets the TDLR requirements forlicensure upon passing the state examination. Analysis of careeropportunities, license requirements, knowledge and skillsexpectations. and development of workplace skills are included.
