In Independent Study in Technology Applications, through thestudy of technology applications foundations, includingtechnology-related terms, concepts, and data input strategies,students will communicate information in different formats andto diverse audiences using a variety of technologies. Students willlearn to make informed decisions; develop and produce originalwork that exemplifies the standards identified by the selectedprofession or discipline; and publish the product in electronicmedia and print. Students will practice the efficient acquisition ofinformation by identifying task requirements, using searchstrategies, and using technology to access, analyze, and evaluatethe acquired information. By using technology as a tool thatsupports the work of individuals and groups in solving problems,students will select the technology appropriate for the task,synthesize knowledge, create solutions, and evaluate the results.The six strands include creativity and innovation; communicationand collaboration; research and information fluency; criticalthinking; problem solving, and decision making; digitalcitizenship; and technology operations and concepts.
