Practicum in Education and Training is a field-based internshipthat provides students background knowledge of child andadolescent development principles as well as principles ofeffective teaching and training practices. Students in the coursework under the joint direction and supervision of both a teacherwith knowledge of early childhood, middle childhood, andadolescence education and exemplary educators in directinstructional roles with elementary, middle school, and highschool aged students. Students learn to plan and directindividualized instruction and group activities, prepareinstructional materials, assist with record keeping, make physicalarrangements, and complete other responsibilities of classroomteachers, trainers, paraprofessionals, or other educationalpersonnel.
