Prerequisites: In this course, students will explore how traits are inherited, how DNA functions as the blueprint of life, and how modern genetics impacts fields such as medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology. Core topics include Mendelian and non-Mendelian inheritance, DNA structure and replication, gene expression and regulation, mutations, genetic technologies, and ethical issues in genetics. Students will analyze case studies, conduct laboratory investigations, and engage in projects that connect genetic principles to real-world scenarios. (Prerequisites: SC430C/H Biology and SC440C/H Chemistry; Corequisites: HS464H Cellular Biology)
