Students will identify the basic components and functions associated with radiologic equipment and develop a scientific understanding of the technical factors and physical concepts required to produce and evaluate quality images. They will practice the use of radiation protection techniques, such as the as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle, and explore imaging modalities. Students will also investigate career opportunities and the processes to obtain and maintain professional certifications within the field of imaging sciences. (Has a Course Fee/Charge), (Work-Based Learning Opportunities may be available in this course), (Future Health Professionals (HOSA) Membership available in this course)
