Mojave High School – Cultural Awareness: Latinx Awareness

This year-long explorations course is designed to assist students in recognizing their cultural identities and exploring issues of racism, immigration, and shared heritage. The course provides theme-based, structured learning activities that instill an understanding of the importance of positive communication, respect for ethnic heritage, and appreciation for the cultural diversity within the community, nation, and world. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to our society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course will specifically focus on the Latinx culture and community.This course fulfills one of the elective credits required for high school graduation.
