This course is a beginner-level pottery course that introduces students to the basic principles and techniques of working with clay as a medium for artistic expression. The course aims to provide hands-on experience with the foundational skills necessary for creating functional and decorative ceramic pieces through basic hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. Come sling some mud and make bowls, cups, and more! # 3D DESIGN 1 HONORS (350500HW) # Prerequisites: Art 1 This is a foundational sculpture course. In this course, students will work with additive and subtractive processes to manipulate and build sculptural forms using traditional materials. Students will explore how materials such as paper, wood, wire, clay, etc. and techniques can be transformed to create art in-the-round. # 3D DESIGN 2 HONORS (350600HW) Prerequisites: 3D Design 1 Honors This sculpture course builds on prior knowledge from all previous courses. Students will continue to work with paper, wood, wire, found objects, clay, etc. in a more advanced and conceptual manner. This is a fast-paced, hands-on studio environment that provides a greater range of artistic freedom and challenges students to develop their technical skill and fi nd their artistic voice.
