This course is designed to provide an introduction to the Athletic Training profession and the necessary skills needed in the area of sports medicine. Students in this class will gain an understanding of how to prevent, evaluate, manage, and rehabilitate injuries that occur in the athletic realm. Students will gain an understanding of anatomy, physiology of exercise, therapeutic exercise, taping, common mechanisms of injuries, and nutrition as they are related to sport.
