Melrose High – Unmanned Aircraft Systems Pilot

This is a course intended to prepare students for positions as commercial drone pilots for small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS). The course teaches students the knowledge and skills needed to successfully pilot sUAS (less than 55 lbs.). Students in Unmanned Aircraft Systems Pilot will receive rigorous instruction in preparation to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Certification (Part 107) written exam also called the aeronautical knowledge exam. The course places an emphasis on applicable regulations, operating requirements, weather impacts, charts, aeronautical decision-making, and safety.
