Meade High – Designing for Wellness: Ergonomics 0.25qtr (Required)

We spend at least one-third of our day engaged in school and work. Having an ergonomically designed workspace is critical to our mental and physical health, for it helps eliminate discomfort and the risk of injury while in our workspaces. In fact, defined as the science of fitting a workplace to the user’s needs, ergonomics aims to increase efficiency and productivity while reducing discomfort. Thus, through project-based learning, this course will engage students in exploring the psychological and physiological principles related to the engineering and design of ergonomic solutions to seating. Students will work through the Design Thinking process to create a unique seating design that incorporates ergonomic practice.
