Meade High – Apex Arts Voice for the Artist

In this course students will discover their best singing voice and more experienced singers will gain an opportunity to exercise their vocal muscles through group work. The course focuses on proper techniques for breathing, projection, voice placement, and articulation taught through singing. Instruction emphasizes text interpretation and characterization in song. This course teaches singing technique to broaden the actor’s and/or dancers’ spoken vocal range. Course instruction makes actors and dancers more comfortable with singing as part of their acting/dance work. Students will also learn techniques to help protect their voices when they sing. (For ApexArts students interested in musical theatre. Not for ApexArts vocal students.)
