AP PHYSICS 2: ALGEBRA-BASED is an introductory college-level physics course that explores topics such as fluid statics anddynamics; thermodynamics with kinetic theory; PV diagrams andprobability; electrostatics; electrical circuits with capacitors;magnetic fields; electromagnetism; physical and geometric optics;and quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics. Through inquiry-basedlearning, students will develop scientific critical thinking andreasoning skills. Twenty-five percent of instructional time isdevoted to hands-on laboratory work, with an emphasis oninquiry-based investigations that provide opportunities to apply thescience practices. Students are required to take the AP exam.
Prerequisites: Physics and AP Calculus or concurrentenrollment in AP Calculus
