This elective course is taught through topics found in classical philosophical writings, such as the nature of truth and knowledge, mind and body, freedom and determinism and right and wrong. Emphasis is placed upon the complex relations of philosophy to the development of modern science, the social and political history of the West and man’s continuing attempt to achieve a satisfactory worldview. (Aligns with Brightpoint Community College PHI 100: Three credits)
