Manatee Technical College – Applied Cybersecurity

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and cybersecurity-related careers in the Information Technology career cluster. Students learn foundational knowledge and skills in computer and network security, security vulnerabilities, attack mechanisms and techniques, intrusion detection and prevention, cryptographic systems, system hardening, risk identification, incidence response, penetration testing, key management, access control, recovery, and a specialized course focused on web security. Includes: CTS0018 Cybersecurity Associate (600 hrs), CTS0085 Web Security Specialist (150 hrs). Total: 750 hours (7 months).
Prerequisites: Prospective students must apply to MTC and complete a To-Do List on the student dashboard. A Basic Skills Assessment must be taken within 6 weeks of the admit date unless exemption criteria have been documented per State Statute.
