Exploring the Language of Medicine is designed to help students learn medical terminology. It is presented in logical order, beginning with each body system anatomy and physiology and progressing through pathology, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic interventions, and pharmacology. Concepts, terms, and abbreviations are also presented to the students. This course is part of the Claude Moore Scholars, a healthcare education program. Exploring the Language of Medicine is strongly recommended for students interested in future Health and Medical Sciences classes. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
