Longview Elementary School – Intro to Sports Officiating

In this course students will properly develop the fundamentals of sports officiating using web-based instructional modules, combined with interactives and activities to understand officiating mechanics, the philosophy of officiating, and provide learners engaging classroom activities. The course will also teach students by putting what they learn into action by participating in practice/scrimmage settings to refine mechanics and get a true feel for the game. Assessments are included at the conclusion of each module, a recommended state licensure exam that serves as the course’s final exam and officiating two real games in local or community leagues. This course will provide students with the knowledge of officiating three sports and a complete certification is awarded with passed exams. This course meets PE II requirements.
