Leon High School – Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries

This semester course is an introduction to the practical and theoretical study of the prevention and care of athletic injuries. Students will learn the fundamental knowledge necessary in handling injury problems which may occur in physical activity and athletics; procedures necessary in handling emergencies in athletic injury situations; gain insight into the role of the athletic trainer, team physician, and other sports medicine professionals; and become familiar with the equipment and supplies used in an athletic training facility.
