This course will enable students to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and maintain a health-enhancing level of fitness and to increase physical competence, self esteem and the motivation to pursue lifelong physical activity. Students will acquire knowledge of the benefits and principles of fitness, learn and apply self-management skills, and become physically active and build their fitness level. Our goal is to develop an independent decision maker capable of planning and implementing their own personal fitness program. Activities will include but are not limited to yoga, pilates, walking, zumba, kickboxing, and resistance training.
