Leodis V. McDaniel High School – Internship Pathway
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
This class is an experiential learning program where seniors intentionally form their post high school path. This curriculum is divided into five “Challenge Areas”: Wilderness, Service Learning, Applied Academics, Career Internship and Presentations. Within and between each area, students engage in a recursive process of experience, reflection and practice applied in real life settings. Each challenge area affords students the opportunity to experience real life work schedules and responsibilities, thus preparing them for life after high school. If you're looking to take ownership of your life, develop career skills, work on-site at a career that interests you, build mental health habits and step into ecological stewardship, this class is for you. This is a double blocked class that requires back to back free periods to enroll. Students who enroll must identify areas of career interest in the spring to secure their internship for the following year.
