Legend High School – Read/Write Strategies

Read/Write Strategies is a skills based English class that is strongly suggested for students who have not shown reading proficiency through work production and test scores. Through specific small group and whole class instruction based on individual needs, students will be taught reading strategies and structured writing with literary analysis to increase comprehension and motivation through curriculum, novel units, non-fiction and fiction text. Students will use writing as a tool to communicate responses and reactions to reading. The primary focus of the class is differentiated, individualized instruction determined by ongoing assessment of students' needs.
