Legacy High School – Teaching and Training I

This course provides students with an introduction to the principles of education. This course addresses teaching and learning. Study includes planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, basic health and safety practices, and legal requirements for teaching. Students will research the requirements of education and training careers and begin to develop a career portfolio. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the Arts/Humanities/CTE credits required for high school graduation. Course Fee $$ 40.00$ . This one-year completer course is designed for students who have successfully completed Teaching and Training I. Project-based learning experiences include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, utilizing health and safety practices, and understanding legal requirements of teaching in an educational setting or training in a workplace environment. Instructional practices incorporate integration of diversity awareness including appreciation of all cultures and their important contributions to society. The appropriate use of technology is an integral part of this course. This course fulfills one of the Arts/Humanities/CTE credits required for high school graduation and may count towards the College and Career Ready Flex Credit requirements for the Standard Diploma.
