UNITY is a class that assists in bringing individuals from different backgrounds and experiences together through understanding, not by judgment and/or discrimination, but by celebrating our differences. UNITY encourages individuals to feel comfortable with their own backgrounds along with understanding the struggles and concerns of others. We strive to show that no matter what you are going through, you are never alone. There are undeniable issues in our society that we wish not to solve, but to bring to the surface and raise awareness for. Hopefully, over time, we can change the flaws that exist in our community. It all starts with a little open-mindedness and willingness to recognize our weaknesses and address them face to face. Every person is entitled to dignity and respect, regardless of their social standing, race, background, gender, age or sexual orientation. UNITY represents this statement, and it is our goal to bring it to the attention of others. Notes: This course requires that students keep grades at a 2.0 minimum, are willing to miss class a few times a semester, can commit to spending some time outside of school to get things done and are responsible.
