Lee V. Pollard High – Symphonic Band 1a-1b

This course will provide the students an opportunity for an intensive examination of the process, content and analysis of music through demonstration and performance. Emphasis is placed on performing quality symphonic band literature, as well as development of the fundamentals of balance, blend, and intonation. The goal of this course is to perform symphonic band music at a level which constitutes successful festival performances, as well as concert performances. Music equivalent to the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association class A and AA (upper high school/college level) will be required. This course may be repeated for duplicate credit.
Prerequisites: "B" or better in previous band class
