This Course is designed to prepare the student to access and use community environments as independently and completely as possible. Instruction in the areas of shopping, travel, eating out, and use of public services are included. Goal areas include, but are not limited to, restaurant behavior, use of phone, socially appropriate behavior and social procedures, selecting and requesting menu choices, use of telephone, appropriate social interactions, sharing personal data, personal space, awareness of public transportation, identify functions of a business, and use of an elevator or an escalator appropriately. This course is designed for students enrolled in the SH-SDC/Life Skills (Severely Handicapped-Special Day Class/Life Skills) program who have a current I.E.P. Notes: Grade Range $1 8 +$ /Transition. Pass/No Pass

Prerequisites: Enrolled in the SH-SDC/Life Skills Program with a current I.E.P.
