Advanced Graphic Design 2A-2B is a continuation of the beginning course, offered to students who have successfully completed Graphic Design 1A-1B in a previous school year. Students will be given opportunities to expand upon their previously acquired skills, continuing to grow as artists, designers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers. Like the prerequisite course, Graphic Design 2A/2B will develop students' skills in artistic perception, critiquing, and application of design strategies. The course will also provide an overview of relevant cultural contexts, and will prepare students to pursue graphic design at the collegiate level. This course will cover advanced graphic design concepts such as typography, perspective, aesthetics, visual communication, and artist/client relations. It will also revisit basic art principles such as the elements of art, color theory, art history, and creative expression. Students will become proficient with Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Projects will include Business Card and Letterhead Design, Product Packaging, Logo Design, Font Design, Movie Posters, Book Covers, and more.
