This course focuses on developing student's ability to produce various forms of media, both in front of and behind the camera. Students will employ their understanding of contemporary media production methods, skills and processes to create personal artistic statements. Students will learn visual and medial literacy concepts, develop critical viewing and analysis skills, examine social responsibility and ethics issues, and cover the elements of storyboarding and principles of set design. Students will also apply their knowledge and skills to produce individual and group projects for broadcast; they will also design sets, and use various lighting techniques to enhance the media experience. Students will make group presentations, take traditional written tests, and write reflections and critiques.
