Leander High School – Research AP
Apr 2026 · 2nd Semester
AP Research allows students to explore an academic topic, problem, or issue of individual interest. Through this exploration, students design, plan, and conduct a year-long, research-based investigation to address a specific question. Students further develop the skills acquired in the AP Seminar course by learning about and understanding research methods; employing ethical research practices; and accessing, analyzing, and synthesizing information as they address a research question. The course culminates in an academic paper of 4,000– 5,000 words and a presentation, performance, or exhibition with an oral defense. This course prepares students to take the AP Exam. ● AP Research is part of the College Board AP Capstone Program. LHS & VHS Theory of Knowledge IB
