This course focuses on basic human developmental and behavioral characteristics of children from conception to age six within the context of the family. Areas of study include principles of human growth and development; factors that impact human growth and development and theories and strategies that promote human growth and development; across the life span. By the end of this course students will be able to identify age specific characteristics of growth and development; analyze a variety of factors that contribute to the growth and development of an individual child; provide care for an infant or child.
