Lake Washington High School – UW Astronomy 150 - The Planets

This course serves as a survey of the planets of the solar system, with an emphasis on recent space exploration of the planets and on the comparative evolution of the Earth and the other planets. Students will learn about the different types of objects that make up our solar system, including planets, moons, comets, and asteroids. Students will examine the formation of the solar system as well as some astronomical history to provide a context for what we know today. Labs will mostly be models and simulations.
