Lake Washington High School – Sports Medicine

This course covers information fundamental to careers in Sports Medicine. Students become familiar with prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Students will apply these principles and analyze safety issues related to health fitness/sport activities. Course topics include but are not limited to: anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, medical terminology and health care administration. Students will learn CPR, AED use, first-aid, plus basic taping and wrapping techniques. This course will include physical labs where students will be actively moving their bodies. This is an excellent class if you are interested in any career in the Sports Medicine field. Lab fee will be required.
