Students in this course will expand their repertoire of acting skills to tackle more advanced texts and performance styles. Depending on student skill level and interest, this may include the techniques of Stanislavski and plays in the realist tradition; classical works with poetic language such as Shakespeare's plays and ancient Greek theatre; approaches to physical comedy such as commedia dell'arte and clowning; and stage combat. Additionally, students will broaden their knowledge of major artistic trends and influential works in theatre history.
