La Plata High School – Advanced Placement Studio Art & Design: 3-D

This course prepares students to take the national examination offered by the College Board in Studio Art. Students will demonstrate an understanding of design principles as they relate to depth and space. Students may submit works to include figurative or nonfigurative sculpture, architectural models, metal work, ceramics, and three dimensional fiber arts, among others. The evaluation of portfolio materials will reflect two areas of concern: quality, breadth, and concentration.
