Johns Creek High School – Fcs Gifted Internship Program

Gifted Internship is an elective class offered exclusively to TAG Juniors and Seniors with an unweighted GPA of 90 or higher. The FCS Gifted Internship Program collaborates with community partners to place students in professional internships where students will engage in authentic career exploration opportunities. The Gifted Internship program employs Program Advisors who work to secure and place students in Internships aligning with the students’ career interests. Students must be open and flexible to taking an internship placement that is part of a wider umbrella of careers around the original stated interest. While the Internship class is generally scheduled for the last period of the day to allow for afternoon internship hours, some career types with early morning activities allow the Internship class to be scheduled in the first period of the day. First period interns must have a Dual Enrollment or virtual class second period. Students must have reliable transportation to and from their internship site. Gifted students meeting the prerequisite requirements interested in participating in the Gifted Internship Program will need to complete an application, obtain a teacher recommendation and participate in an interview. Selection for the internship program will be made by a school-based committee. Students may complete up to four internships while in high school.
