Jefferson High School – Theater 110

This class is presented with the help of the Willamette Promise and Western Oregon University. Students will be able to earn 3 elective college credits. This class is an introductory level course which hopes to provide the basic knowledge in live performance theater and the role of an audience, and the role of all technical supports. Students will produce a portfolio with proof of a project connected to the theater arts (set design, costume design, sound, lights, script writing, performance). As well as producing a portfolio, students will read at least five plays and reflect on said plays, view at least one live theater performance in person, and take a comprehensive exam on the nature of theater, including vocabulary, job descriptions, and technical terms.
