Schedule Full Year. Scientific Research and Design is a broad-basedcourse designed to allow districts and schools considerableflexibility to develop local curriculum to supplement any programof study or coherent sequence. The course has the components ofany rigorous scientific or engineering program of study from theproblem identification, investigation design, data collection, dataanalysis, formulation, and presentation of the conclusions. All ofthese components are integrated with the career and technicaleducation emphasis of helping students gain entry-levelemployment in high skill, high wage jobs and/or continue theireducation. Students must meet the 40% laboratory and fieldworkrequirement. Students may repeat this course with differentcourse content for up to three credits. This course may also beused as a third or fourth science credit under the HB5 graduationrequirements for students who have entered Grade 9 in the2014-2015 school year and thereafter.
