SCHEDULE FULL YEAR. AVID II students refine the AVID strategiesto meet their independent needs and learning styles. Studentscontinue to refine and adjust their academic learning plans andgoals, increasing awareness of their actions and behaviors. Asstudents increase the rigorous course load and school andcommunity involvement, they refine their time management andstudy skills accordingly. Students expand their writing portfolio toinclude analyzing prompts, supporting arguments and claims,character analysis, and detailed reflections. Students also analyzevarious documents in order to participate in collaborativediscussions and develop leadership skills in those settings.Students expand their vocabulary use, continuing to prepare forcollege entrance exams and preparation. Text analysis focuses onspecific strategies to understand complex texts. Lastly, studentsnarrow down their college and careers of interest based onpersonal interests and goals.
