Prerequisites: Prerequisites: CSE 121 AP Computer Science or equivalent previous programming experience IB Computer Science is a yearlong course that prepares students to take the IB Computer Science exam at the Standard level. The course is designed to develop an understanding of computerized systems through a clear understanding of the problem to be solved, appropriate use of hardware based on a detailed knowledge of its capabilities and limitations, efficient use of algorithms and data structures; thorough and logical design, and carful testing an integration of all these components. IB students will learn Java, including mechanisms such as encapsulation, polymorphism and inheritance. This course focuses on software development, fundamentals of computer systems, and the relationship between computing systems and society.
