Welcome to The Wolverine News Network and Broadcast Journalism! In this course, students will delve into the exciting world of news production as they work together to create a monthly news show for the student body and school community on the Wolverine News Network (WNN). From filming to editing, reporting to anchoring, this class offers a hands-on experience in every aspect of broadcast journalism. Students will learn the fundamentals of news gathering, interviewing techniques, and scriptwriting to craft compelling stories that inform and engage their audience. They will explore the ethical considerations and responsibilities inherent in journalism, developing critical thinking and decision-making skills along the way. Hands-on experience will be at the forefront of this course. Students will have the opportunity to explore various roles within the newsroom, including camera operation, video and sound editing, on-camera reporting, and anchoring.
