The purpose of this course is to acquire knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent development necessary for strengthening the well-being of children and families. Content focuses on perspectives of human development, research and theories, understanding and nurturing development, and challenges to development. Counseling Notes: 1. Students may earn 1.0 credit for every 250 hours of documented, paid job/internship experience. Students may earn up to 1.0 Work Based Learning credits per school year. Students must pass the course in order to receive the optional work credit. 2. Students may not be enrolled in and /or receive job/internship credit for more than one WBL class at a time. Students may not count more than 2.0 job/internship credits from courses towards graduation. 3.
