Mexican Folkdance, Culture and Music I provides the student with the opportunity to become aware of the history, culture, music, and geographic regions that Mexican dance encompass. The student learns basic elements of traditional Mexican, New Mexican and other folk dances. The student acquires knowledge of dance steps, choreography, music, skirt work, and costuming from the different regions of Mexico. The student is expected to participate in dance performances.
