Speech is a one semester English credit course focused on expanding and sharpening students’ communicative skills through public oratory and interpersonal communication. Students research, write, and deliver three major presentations. They also have weekly low stakes speaking opportunities. Throughout the course students are expected to read, write, listen, and speak in accordance with the language arts standards set forth by the state of Indiana. Students will explore informative, demonstration, and persuasive speaking formats. Within those major assignments, they’ll find and evaluate source
