AP Music Theory is a rigorous and engaging course equivalent to a first-year college music theory class. Designed for students that are passionate about music, this course explores how music is constructed and analyzed. Emphasis is placed on developing aural skills, sight-singing, composition, and theoretical understanding of tonal music, culminating in the AP Music Theory Exam in May.
Prerequisites: Ability to read sheet music is required. Students should be comfortable sight-reading and performing music independently. Previous music class experience is recommended but not required.
