IB Mandarin Chinese SL is an immersive, yearlong course designed for students with strong Mandarin language skills who seek to deepen their academic proficiency. Focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening, this course prepares students to sit for the IB Standard Level exam. Instruction is conducted almost exclusively in Chinese, encouraging students to use Mandarin in all classroom interactions.

Prerequisites: Completion of Mandarin Chinese 3 or equivalent is required. Students should possess advanced knowledge of Chinese characters and a solid understanding of both simple and complex grammar structures.
