After school rehearsals, performances, and/or instruction are a graded requirement of this course. This course will focus on the analysis and appreciation of films and will provide students with the skills to understand and to interpret the various forms of the moving image. The aim is to substitute active viewing for passive absorption, and to offer students a context and a set of tools with which to assess the media presentations that shape the world we all inhabit.
