The purpose of this course is to produce personal visual statements that search for a synthesis of aesthetic values and functional requirements and to understand the complex language of visual symbols which form part of every culture. As students reach their 11th and 12th grade year in IB Art or Photography they are working towards presenting a portfolio of work that will be examined, along with research that explains why certain ideas, projects, media, techniques, etc. were pursued.
