Students apply critical-thinking skills to analyze financial options based on current and projected economic factors. Students will examine various methods of achieving short-term and long-term financial goals through several means such as investing, tax planning, asset allocation, risk management, retirement planning, and estate planning. Students will gain insight of professional employability skills that are required by business and industry. By examining financial forecast students will demonstrate foundational knowledge that will require decision-making in their personal finances. Materials fee may be required for this course. Students will understand the laws and regulations to manage business operations and transactions in the securities and investments industries. Students will discuss strategies for selecting investments and understand factors that must be considered when investing. Students will explore exams and certifications required to sell securities and other financial products as well as demonstrate an understanding of proper business etiquette. Materials fee may be required for this course.
