Heritage High School – AP Seminar Course
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Using an inquiry framework, students practice reading and analyzing articles, research studies, and foundational literary and philosophical texts; listening to and viewing speeches, broadcasts, and personal accounts; and experiencing artistic works and performances. Students learn to synthesize information from multiple sources, develop their own perspectives in research based written essays, and design and deliver oral and visual presentations, both individually and as part of a team. Students will complete various assessments throughout the year to earn an Advanced Placement Exam score that may allow them to earn college credit. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research will receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate© signifying their attainment of college-level academic and research skills. In addition, students who earn a 3 or higher in four additional AP Courses will receive the AP Capstone Diploma $\\circledcirc$ . Students receive a GPA weighted credit as with all other AP courses. Note: This course cannot be dropped until semester. The Exam Fee for this course $$ 143$ . Starting with the class of 2021, this course will satisfy the high school speech credit requirement. AP Seminar: Multicultural Section A designated section of this course will be utilizing curriculum related to multicultural studies. Students will continue to select topics of interest related to the African diaspora, Latin American studies, Asian American studies, and related multicultural topics.
