Health Careers High School – Avid 12

The twelfth grade AVID Elective course builds on the previous year’s focus, along with a focus on writing and critical thinking expected of first- and second-year college students. In addition to the academic focus, there are college-bound activities and tasks that should be achieved during senior year that support students as they apply to four-year universities and confirm their postsecondary plans. All AVID seniors are required to develop and present a portfolio representing their years of work in AVID. Prerequisite (PR): Application and interview.  Students selected to enroll in AVID must also enroll in at least one Advanced Academics course. Only courses labeled as Advanced, Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Credit (DC), or OnRamps meet this requirement.
